Marilyn Monroe's skincare routine

Marilyn Monroe was one of the most famous actresses from the 50s, known for playing "blonde bombshell" characters. She is still recognized today as one of the most beautiful women ever and a major icon of pop culture.

Marilyn Monroe's skincare routine was revealed in the form of a prescription written on March 17th, 1959 by dermatologist Erno Laszlo. The prescription was part of an exhibit at the Makeup museum called "Pink Jungle: 1950s Makeup in America".

Patricia Schuffenhauer, Erno Laszlo's chief historian and branding officer said, in a video posted by the west village museum, "He personalized every prescription for all of his clients, and Marilyn Monroe was on the drier side, so you can see as we walk through the prescription that all of the products were to help hydrate her skin,”

In the morning she would apply Active Phelityl oil on her face and neck, with a piece of cotton.

Immediately after she would wash her face with the Active Phelityl Soap.

Then she would apply Normalizer Shake-It on her face and then immediately blot it off.

Under her eyes, she would apply Phelitone "in tiny dots, spreading it gently over the surface" and then blotting it off as well.

Finally, she applied Duo-Phase Face Powder to her entire face and neck, brushing it off with cotton after a minute.

In the evening she would use the Active Phelityl oil and the Active Phelityl Soap in the same way as in the morning.

After drying her face she would apply Active Phelityl cream. Then she would wash that off with a piece of cotton saturated in controlling lotion.

She would then reapply the controlling lotion and let that dry overnight.

The prescription also includes a list of foods she can not eat, the list includes nuts, olives, chocolate, clams, and oysters.

If you planning on trying Marilyn Monroe's skincare routine I would highly recommend you watch this video by "Skincare by Hyram", he looks at the ingredients in each product and explains whether they are good for the skin or not.
